Laid back in a beach chair with your feet in our soft white sand, you may wonder, Why leave Sirata? Well, there is a lot to explore just minutes away, whether by foot, bike or even the Free Beach Ride! Sirata is situated roughly in the middle of St. Pete Beach with the best shopping located on the North and South points of the island with lots of local restaurants and bars in between.
On the north end, Corey Avenue shopping district is a great spot to spend a Sunday morning. Start your venture at a number of local breakfast spots including The Frog Pond, Beverly’s or Chill then explore some of the local shops just steps away. Coastal Cottage has a great selection of hand painted Florida art & furniture and Simply Perfect is one of the best card & novelty shops on the beach.
If you’re looking for small-town charm in our coastal city, head south to Pass-a-Grille. Start your excursion on historic 8th Avenue where you can pick up local souvenirs for your friends, or a couple trinkets for yourself, from one of the adorable local boutiques. Be sure to pop into A Little Room for Art, Evander Preston Contemporary Jewelry and Bamboozle.
Save room for dessert, at the Don CeSar’s old fashioned ice cream parlor- Uncle Andy’s. Take the time to stroll around the iconic pink palace looking hotel built in the 1930s with a guest list that has includes, Scoot Fitzgerald, Al Capone, multiple presidents and celebrities.
After ice cream, it’s time for a sunset walk across the Bayway Bridge to take in a bird’s eye perspective of our beautiful city. Park along East Maritana Drive then start walking from the park at the west side of the bridge.
Want to stick closer to the hotel, maybe after an afternoon of beachfront fun at Harry’s Beach Bar or Rum Runners Bar & Grille? We’ve got a couple beach bars and one date night spot that are sure to please. About a half mile north, Jimmy B’s has everything you look for in a Florida Beach Bar- live music, laid back vibe and lots of smiling folks. Also, just under a mile south of the Strata is The Undertow. More of a local choice, The Undertow has pick up volleyball, lots of sports on TV and some great Adirondack chairs to relax in.
Our final suggestion, a date at MadFish Grill, is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. MadFish Grille is an unassuming converted diner offering innovative, upscale dining. Whatever you order, the fish or the steak, your taste buds will be satisfied.
