Hotels near John’s Pass Seafood Festival
As a guest at the Sirata Beach Resort, you’ve got front-row seats to some of the finest fishing grounds in the world: the west coast of Florida’s Gulf of Mexico waters. And although that’s a resource you can enjoy year-round, a particularly fabulous opportunity for really reveling in the bounty is right around the corner.
That’s right: It’s time once again for the John’s Pass Seafood Festival over at Madeira Beach, and here at Sirata you’re just a few miles away! The feasting takes place October 26 through 29, so don’t wait another moment to make your reservations at our resort.
The John’s Pass Seafood Festival
Now in its very impressive 36th year, the John’s Pass Seafood Festival ranks as one of the biggest seafood soirees in the entire country, and it’s definitely one of the highlights of the year along our sunny slice of shore. Local seafood establishments as well as vendors from across the Southeast are on hand to feed the masses—and to compete in various food competitions, from “Best Grouper” to “Best Seafood Dish.”
In other words, you’re going to be eating like coastal royalty. But while the seafood cookery’s the headliner attraction, there’s plenty else to entertain here in John’s Pass Village. On Friday, the festival hosts a Halloween Block Party complete with costume contests—‘tis the season, after all. Saturday sees some of the action shift offshore with the Battle at the Pass Fishing Tournament, an opportunity for saltwater anglers to show off their prowess out on those legendary depths. That morning, meanwhile, runners can soak up some of the beachfront beauty on the Seafood Fest 5k.
And then there’s the World’s Largest Bloody Mary Toast on Sunday: Organizers are aiming for at least 2,000 revelers to hoist a free Bloody (or Virgin) Mary, so go help ’em out!
The concert stage will be well-trodden throughout the affair: The festival’s free concerts include Horses Wild and the Bearded Brothers on Saturday and four bands supplying daylong tunes on Sunday, including Seranation and the Tempests.
The John’s Pass Seafood Festival is free to enter, while proceeds go to support the City of Madeira Beach as well as Pinellas County Schools.
