A heads-up—and an invitation—to all golf fans: The Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour is just around the corner, and Sirata Beach Resort here in St. Pete Beach makes the perfect accommodations for the tournament!
Established in 2000 as the Tampa Bay Classic, the Valspar Championship takes place in early to mid-March at the Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club in Palm Harbor, an hour or less from Sirata.
In 2019, Paul Casey of England won the tournament, with Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa the runner-up.
Preceding the Valspar Championship, the Osteo Bi-Flex Made to Move Copperhead 5k offers a fun, healthy, and charitable (part of the proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County) circuit of the Copperhead Course, where the tournament will play out.
There are also an array of fan festivities on hand to spice up your spectating. In previous years, fans saw a Food Truck Rally, Frenchy's Pool Party behind the 18th green, a Family Fun Zone along the 8th and 9th holes and even free concerts from country superstars such as Jake Owen and Dustin Lynch along the Copperhead Course. Not to mention the "Monday After Challenge", which provides fans with the opportunity to get out on the course the Valspar pros just played through.
